Little Free Libraries

We partnered with the Los Angeles Police Department in opening a Little Free Library in the lobby of each of its stations. These little libraries are meant to give children in downtown Los Angeles a safe place to read and share books ... and to promote literacy and a love of reading. The concept is simple: take a book, leave a book. No due dates, late fees, or library cards required. Our school donated 1,683 books for children age K-8. Read More »

One School, One Heart

One School. One Heart is a school wide recognition project that our ASB class puts on to recognize those individuals in our school community that make a special impact on campus. This recognition is unique in that we award it to those students who may or may not have the highest GPA's or strongest athletic ability, but they are student nominated by their peers for making a genuine difference to others. Tip-A-Cop

Lake City High School Student Council helped the Kootenai County Sheriff's department in raising money and awareness of the Special Olympics. This event, called Tip-A-Cop, takes places at the local Red Robin every year. Operation Gratitude. Using guidance from the national Operation Gratitude website, NHS members from Epic Charter School in Oklahoma City, OK, took a day to write nearly 60 letters to military personnel serving overseas.

Community Welcome Buckets. The chapter at Milton Area High School, in Milton, PA, helped welcome new residents to their community by distributing buckets with welcome gifts. The project aimed to ensure support for schools from the whole community. They were also featured in the local paper!
