Welcome Back Bears

Welcome Back Bears is the Mountain View Student Council’s first day of school event. This first day of school is not normal. Instead of going through the normal bell schedule, students of Mountain View have an activity-filled day. This day works by splitting each grade level into different activities throughout the day. Thinking Outside the Lunchbox

Our student council class wanted to help the kids who are staying at Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City Utah.  Our Student Council class decided to make unique craft kits inside of metal lunchboxes.  Everybody chose a different theme and filled their lunchboxes with fun crafts, games, and items to keep them busy and creative.  Two of our students and our student council advisor delivered the 30 lunchboxes to the hospital in Utah over Spring Break. Operation Gratitude. Using guidance from the national Operation Gratitude website, NHS members from Epic Charter School in Oklahoma City, OK, took a day to write nearly 60 letters to military personnel serving overseas.

Milton, PA

Community Welcome Buckets. The chapter at Milton Area High School, in Milton, PA, helped welcome new residents to their community by distributing buckets with welcome gifts. The project aimed to ensure support for schools from the whole community. They were also featured in the local paper!

Portland, OR

Friends of Tree Planting. Chapter members from Benson High School in Portland, OR, joined with a local community group to plant trees and beautify their community.

Pen Pals to the Rescue. Read about Brookfield Central High School’s pen pal program featuring NHS members in Brookfield, WI, who linked up with English language learners at local elementary schools.
