9/26/18: Applying to College: What You Need to Know Now
This webinar is a definitive guide to the entire college application process. Expert panelists will help you: build a relationship with your colleges of interest and narrow down your list; understand application types and deadlines; and communicate your best self when applying to college.


10/1/18: How to Shine in Your Scholarship Applications
Are you planning to complete the National Honor Society Scholarship application or apply for other scholarships this year? In this interactive workshop, students will hear tips and best practices for transforming their service and leadership experiences into compelling stories. These strategies will be directly applicable to the NHS Scholarship and also transferable to other scholarship and college applications. Students who register can attend the live session and pose questions to the presenters or can opt to watch a recording of the presentation after the live broadcast.


10/10/18: Your First Step in Financial Aid: the FAFSA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is considered the gateway to college affordability. Available online October 1 each year, FAFSA completion is necessary to be considered for federal and state financial aid, as well as the institutional aid that colleges offer applicants. Expert presenters will provide plain-language instructions, as well as practical advice and resources to make this important step in the college application process as predictable and stress-free as possible.


10/16/18: First Steps in Writing Your College Essay
Writing about yourself can be difficult, but it’s important to share your own unique story in your college essay. This session features guided activities and explores writing strategies to help applicants shine in preparing a personal statement.


2/5/19: Paying for College: Defined
This session offers the ultimate primer in building literacy about college financial aid, including scholarship options. Knowledgeable panelists will share common terms, definitions, and resources, aimed at helping viewers understand ways to pay for college. They will also help students and parents navigate the financial aid award package, with a special focus on the first-year award.


4/16/19: Getting Started with Your College Search
This webinar presents a comprehensive guide for the entire college search process—from developing your college wish list, to researching schools, visiting campuses, and narrowing down your list. Presenters will also prepare you to meet with admission officers and suggest questions to ask. Finally, application preparation—including tips on admission testing, essays, recommendation letters, and deadlines—will be covered.


5/2/19: You’re Accepted – Now What?
Graduating from high school and preparing to take the next step in your education can be exciting and overwhelming at the same time. During this presentation, college admission and student life professionals will give you tips for making a smooth transition to your college in the fall. The session will also feature strategies for successfully completing your freshman year, becoming a leader on your campus, and finding meaningful service opportunities to your new community.
