  • Everyday Character
is valuing diverse cultures and building relationships that reflect love of self but also concern for others.

  • Everyday Citizenship
is accepting one’s place and role in the community and seeking to understand the concerns and strengths of that community.

  • “Our chapter is small, but we have made a big impact on our community. We have helped a WWII Vet take care of his yard, made Goodie Bags for the Homeless with socks, snacks, water, and encouraging words. We hosted a reading parade and shared the love of reading, and an art festival at our school. ”

Once you are affiliated with NJHS, your new adviser will have access to several resources that will help kick-start a new chapter or rejuvenate an existing one. In the Adviser Resource Center, you will find a section for “New Chapters & New Advisers” that includes a sample constitution, an adviser skills checklist, a survival guide, and more. What are the benefits of NJHS for students?

NJHS membership is invitation-only. And once inducted, NJHS student members are members for life. As members, students have opportunities to expand their leadership and are called to serve as role models in valuing the mindsets and actions related to scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.

With a National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) affiliation, you give your most ambitious students a place to develop their leadership skills and learn how to be an active citizen in their community—setting them up for success that lasts far beyond academia.
