Freshman Orientation 2014

Throughout the year, the Student Council of Londonderry High School offers events which serve the school community. The largest and perhaps most important of these events is Freshman Orientation. Every year on the day before the first day of school, incoming freshman and new students are welcomed to Londonderry High School. Candy Elections

To help Fairbanks NJHS members understand what campaigning is about, we are holding "Candy Elections".  On November 4, 2014, we held a pre-election vote to determine the favorite candy of all time among our student body.  The choices of candies were Smarties, Tootsie Roll, Gummy Bears, Laffy Taffy & Life Savers.  The results were as follows:  Smarties - 19 votes Tootsie Roll - 22 votes Gummy Bears - 76 votes Laffy Taffy - 37 votes Life Savers - 23 votes NJHS… Read More »

Chalk4Peace

Chalk for Peace was an event that enabled students to promote peace by expressing their feelings inside a giant peace sign, that was located in the court yard. The peace sign was visible to all the students in our school. Students paid 3 dollars for the event and were provided chalk, music, food, and drinks. We had food donated from local restaurants like, Panera Bread, Starbucks, and Publix. The funds raised will be used to send students to leadership conferences. Read More »

Operation Gratitude. Using guidance from the national Operation Gratitude website, NHS members from Epic Charter School in Oklahoma City, OK, took a day to write nearly 60 letters to military personnel serving overseas.

Milton, PA

Community Welcome Buckets. The chapter at Milton Area High School, in Milton, PA, helped welcome new residents to their community by distributing buckets with welcome gifts. The project aimed to ensure support for schools from the whole community. They were also featured in the local paper!

Portland, OR

Friends of Tree Planting. Chapter members from Benson High School in Portland, OR, joined with a local community group to plant trees and beautify their community.

Pen Pals to the Rescue. Read about Brookfield Central High School’s pen pal program featuring NHS members in Brookfield, WI, who linked up with English language learners at local elementary schools.
