2019 Winner

The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) is pleased to announce that Amy Krueger of Rockwood South Middle School in Fenton, MO has been selected as the 2019 NJHS Rynearson Adviser of the Year. Krueger has been an NJHS adviser for the past seven years, during which time she has developed a sincere appreciation of the value of NJHS on her campus. “NJHS picks up the torch—literally—to promote continued values and a shared mission … most importantly, NJHS offers a platform of innovation for so many … kids to create, develop, and execute acts of service.”

Rockwood South Middle School’s principal, Dr. Laurie Birkenmeier, says of Kreuger’s commitment and dedication, “she has motivated, inspired, and supported hundreds of student leaders in making a difference for one another and within the community. I am proud to share that thanks to Mrs. Krueger’s initiative, our NJHS recently worked with Under the Same Tree to secure a $5,000 grant from Wells Fargo.” This grant will be used to build gardens for a local church that serves immigrants, refugees, and other families living below the poverty line. “Thanks to Mrs. Krueger, our kids will have the opportunity to make a difference for this community.”

Gabriella Greer is an eighth-grade student who serves as the chapter’s vice president. In her recommendation letter, she expressed gratitude for Krueger’s ability to serve as a role model for these young leaders. “She still teaches me something new every day. She has taught me the love of volunteering and has given me the feeling of how great it is to help others. Ms. Krueger is a phenomenal role model.”

NASSP thanks Krueger for the impact she’s made in the lives of young leaders and in exemplifying the ideals of NJHS.

NASSP is the parent organization of the National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society.
